Reading Terms of Service might not count as cardio, but it can definitely save you headaches later. Please read these Terms carefully.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the BeLeanr website, web application, mobile-accessible services, and any related features (collectively, the "Services"). These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines (together, the "BeLeanr Terms").

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, or clicking "Accept," you agree to the BeLeanr Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. Who We Are

BeLeanr is a fitness and habit tracking platform. At this stage, the Services may be operated by an individual or informal project team. References to "BeLeanr," "we," "us," or "our" mean the operator(s) of the Services.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

2.1 Who May Use the Services

You must be at least 16 years old to use BeLeanr, and you must be legally allowed to use the Services in your jurisdiction.

By using the Services, you represent that:

  • You meet the age requirement
  • You will comply with applicable laws
  • The information you provide is accurate and up to date

2.2 Your Account

  • Provide accurate registration details
  • Keep your account information up to date
  • Keep your password secure and confidential
  • Use only one account unless we approve otherwise

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us if you suspect unauthorized access.

You may request to delete your account. Deletion may be permanent and may not be reversible. Some information may be retained where required by law, security needs, or legitimate operational reasons (for example, audit logs and abuse prevention).

3. Changes to the Services and Terms

3.1 Changes to the Services

We may change, suspend, remove, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, including features, content, or availability. We may also impose limits or restrictions to protect the Services and users.

3.2 Changes to the Terms

We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, an in-app notice). Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

4. Content, Ownership, and Licences

4.1 Definitions

"Content" means text, graphics, data, workouts, plans, templates, software, and materials available through the Services. "User Content" means Content you submit, upload, post, or otherwise make available through the Services. "BeLeanr Content" means all Content that is not User Content.

4.2 BeLeanr Content

BeLeanr Content and the Services are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited licence below, nothing in these Terms transfers ownership to you.

4.3 Licence to You

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Services for your own personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • Copy, sell, or commercially exploit the Services or BeLeanr Content
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code (except where allowed by law)
  • Circumvent security features or access controls

4.4 Your User Content and Licence to Us

You keep ownership of your User Content. When you submit User Content to BeLeanr, you grant BeLeanr a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, process, reproduce, modify (for formatting/display), publish, display, and distribute your User Content solely to operate and provide the Services, improve the Services, and enforce safety, moderation, and legal compliance.

This licence continues as long as your User Content remains on the Services. If you delete User Content, we will take reasonable steps to remove it, but backups may persist for a limited time, other users may have copied it, and public content may remain cached elsewhere outside our control.

4.5 Your Responsibilities for User Content

You represent and warrant that:

  • You have the rights to upload or post your User Content
  • Your User Content does not infringe the rights of others
  • Your User Content complies with these Terms and the Community Guidelines

4.6 Feedback

If you send suggestions or feedback, you agree we may use it without compensation or obligation to you.

5. Community Guidelines

If BeLeanr offers community features (posts, comments, groups, messages, shared workouts), you must follow the Community Guidelines. Violations may result in content removal or account restrictions.

6. Health, Fitness, and Safety Disclaimer

6.1 Not Medical Advice

BeLeanr provides fitness tracking tools and general information only. Nothing in BeLeanr is medical advice, and BeLeanr is not a medical provider. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before starting, changing, or stopping any fitness program, diet, or health routine.

6.2 Assumption of Risk

  • Exercise, training, and workouts
  • Dietary choices and changes
  • Actions taken based on information from BeLeanr

6.3 No Guarantees

We do not guarantee results, outcomes, or accuracy of any workout plan, schedule, recommendation, estimated calorie burn, or similar outputs.

7. Acceptable Use and Restrictions

You agree not to:

  • Violate laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, defame, or abuse others
  • Post illegal, infringing, hateful, or unsafe content
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems or accounts
  • Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Services
  • Overload the Services (including automated requests)
  • Use BeLeanr for competitive analysis or to build a competing product

We may investigate suspected violations and take action without notice.

8. Third Party Services

The Services may link to third-party websites, tools, or integrations. Third parties have their own terms and privacy policies. BeLeanr is not responsible for third-party services, content, or actions.

9. Paid Features (If Applicable)

BeLeanr may offer paid features, subscriptions, or upgrades in the future. If so:

  • Pricing and billing terms will be shown at purchase
  • Subscriptions may auto-renew unless cancelled
  • Refunds, where offered, will be governed by the purchase platform rules (for example, app stores) and applicable law

If you do not pay fees when due, we may suspend or terminate paid access.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Services at any time if:

  • You violate these Terms or Community Guidelines
  • We reasonably believe your use is harmful, abusive, or illegal
  • We need to protect the Services, users, or third parties

You may stop using the Services at any time.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Services are provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim all warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of harmful components.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeLeanr will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses arising out of or related to your use of the Services.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeLeanr's total liability for any claim related to the Services will not exceed the greater of:

  • GBP 100, or
  • The amount you paid to BeLeanr for the Services in the 12 months before the event

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law (for example, fraud or death/personal injury caused by negligence where exclusion is unlawful).

13. Indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless BeLeanr from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from:

  • Your use of the Services
  • Your User Content
  • Your breach of these Terms
  • Your violation of any law or third-party rights

14. User Generated Content and Disputes Between Users

Community content is provided by users. BeLeanr does not verify, endorse, or guarantee the accuracy or safety of user posts, workout advice, or any community content.

You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. BeLeanr is not obligated to become involved in disputes between users and disclaims liability arising from such disputes, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that courts in England and Wales will have jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Services, except where applicable consumer protection law requires otherwise.

16. Miscellaneous

  • If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect.
  • You may not assign your rights or obligations without our written consent.
  • We may assign our rights and obligations as part of operating or transferring the Services.
  • Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
